SUNDAY MORNING
CHILDREN’S PROGRAMS
930–1000 am AWESOME GOD (kid’s worship warm-up)
Kids and Parents gather in Kimball
Hall for Songs, Puppets & Prayer led by our Youth Group. AWESOME GOD
provides an opportunity for families to begin their Sunday morning
worship experience together in a lively, informal setting. AWESOME GOD
also provides a supportive environment for children to share their
special joys, concerns, and prayer requests each week; to “ease into” a
new nursery or Sunday School experience; and to build relationships with
older children and teens in the parish.
Children and Youth
process from AWESOME GOD into Church at 10:00 for Children’s Moment and
Blessing, then continue downstairs for Sunday School/Godly Play.
1000-1045 am Sunday School/Godly Play
Following a blessing in the church, children and youth gather in the
downstairs classrooms for 45 minutes of Sunday School/Godly Play, then
return to church for communion.
During the school year we offer classes for Nursery age
We nourish the faith of our babies and toddlers with the warm, reliable
welcome they experience from our professional childcare providers.
Their faith is further nourished by the inclusion of liturgical and
biblical symbols, colors, and pictures in our nursery play area. Our
teachers may also share faith-building songs and stories with children
as they play in the nursery.
3–4 year olds
We nourish the faith of our 3-4 year olds with a special pre-school
class structured loosely in the pattern of Godly Play. Children hear a
bible story, respond to the story, and share a healthy snack or “feast”
together.
5–7
year olds
We nourish the faith of our 5-7 year olds by introducing biblical
stories through the methodology of Godly Play. We seek to support each
child’s developing relationship with God through sharing the stories of
the church, wondering together, responding to God’s Word through
individualized “work”, and sharing the fellowship of a healthy snack or
“feast” together.
8–11 year olds
We nourish the faith of our 8-11 years by allowing them to deepen their
understanding of biblical stories through further exploration with Godly
Play. We continue to support each child’s developing relationship with
God through sharing the stories of the church, wondering together,
responding to God’s Word through individualized “work”, and sharing the
fellowship of a healthy snack or “feast” together.
Mid-High schoolers
We nourish the
faith of our middle and high school students by creating a safe and
supportive environment in which they can explore their faith, deepen
their knowledge of scripture, and share the joys and concerns of their
daily lives. We draw from a variety sources to create an original
curriculum that is responsive to the specific interests and needs of
each class.
During the
summer and on school holidays we offer two mixed-age classes
for:
Children (3-11 year olds)
Youth (12-18 year olds)
